You will arise and have compassion on Zion; For it is time to be gracious to her, For the appointed time has come. Surely Your servants find pleasure in her stones. And feel pity for her dust. So the nations will fear the name of the Lord. And all the kings of the earth Your glory. Psalm 102:13-16
The City of David is the original location of Mount Zion, just south of the Temple Mount (2 Samuel 5:7). It is where the Gihon spring bubbles up, where Melchizedek met Abraham and where the kings of Israel were anointed. King David set up the Tabernacle of David in Zion with the Ark of the Covenant in it. It is here that many of the Psalms were written and the Lord was worshipped freely (His tabernacle is in Salem; His dwelling place also is in Zion. Psalm 76:2).
Zion is more than just a place, it refers to God’s Holy Mountain, the physical city of Jerusalem, and also the spiritual city of God’s presence in our hearts. It is the place that God Himself chose and made His resting place (Psalm 132:13).
According to the Bible Zion is also the place where Jesus will come back to reign in the future. “for the Lord of hosts will reign on Mount Zion and in Jerusalem.” (Isaiah 24:23). It is here that the prophets have said that a fountain of living water will come forth and a river of life will make the desert bloom (Isaiah 2:2, Ezekiel 47:1-12, Zachariah 13:1, 14:8 ). Jesus fulfilled these scriptures and the Holy Spirit was poured out on all flesh, but the prophecy is also for the future when all nations will flow to Zion and God’s Word will go forth from it. Zion points to a physical place with a glorious future and it also represents the place of God’s presence, power, blessing and protection, and His dwelling place in our hearts and the Heavenly Jerusalem (Revelation 21).
Plant Hope Israel has started a new project to support the restoration of Zion both physically and spiritually.
Physically, we are doing this to follow God’s heart during this time for the blessing and restoration of Jerusalem. Spiritually we are praying for all people to go up the spiritual mountain of the Lord and come to know His presence and for the Holy Spirit to be poured out over them. Archaeologist Jennifer Guetta has been involved with the City of David since 2001. After she came to know the Lord in 2012 God has called her back there to pray on high level over strategic locations. In a dream the Lord spoke to her about His love for Zion and His desire to restore it. This was confirmed in the Bible in Psalm 87:2 The Lord loves the gates of Zion. We want to bless the restoration of the fortunes of Zion and prepare the way of the Lord.
When the LORD restored the fortunes of Zion, we were like those who dreamed. Our mouths were filled with laughter, our tongues with songs of joy. Then it was said among the nations, “The LORD has done great things for them.” The LORD has done great things for us, and we are filled with joy. Psalms 146:1-3
What are we doing for this project:
- Organize and support prayer on high level for the restoration of the original Zion.
The City of David is one of the most strategic locations in the world and there is a lot of spiritual warfare going on. Like watchmen, we are praying day and night on the original walls of Jerusalem. We pray for cleansing of Zion and for principalities of darkness, kabbala and witchcraft to leave. We are praying for the restoration of the Tabernacle of David, and worship to be restored and all people to come to know the Messiah Yeshua. There are hundreds of scriptures in the Bible about Zion, and we are proclaiming them out loud, for God’s promises for Zion to come true.
We organize online prayer groups to pray over Jerusalem and also take groups of prayer intercessors to special locations in the City of David and we support local prayer houses. We have already gone with five groups to the Melchizedek sacred place above the spring to pray, worship and have communion. We also prayer walked the newly discovered Pilgrims path from the Siloam Pool to the Western Wall.
- Educate & teach about Zion.
We want to teach about the meaning of Jerusalem & the City of David, and also about the spiritual meaning of Zion in our heart. We do this by making video’s, Youtube video’s, podcasts, articles, lectures, and writing books about Zion.
- Restoration of archaeology and history of Zion.
Studying and publishing truth about archaeological finds in Zion and showing its Biblical heritage as truth. Exposing archaeological minimalism and showing that the Bible is the true Word of God and real today.
- Keeping Zion Holy.
Zion is God’s dwelling place, and we support keeping it clean, and as a place of prayer & praise for God and for the Messiah Yeshua.

- God’s Word will go forth from Zion
Helping God’s word to go forth out of Zion to Israel and the nations. Bringing forth the Word of God to Israel and the nations from Mount Zion. ”Sing praises to the Lord, who dwells in Zion! Tell among the peoples His deeds.” Psalm 9:11. According to Isaiah the veil over the nation will be removed from Zion. His word goes frorth from here to all nations. This was partially fullfilled when Yeshua came and is also happening in the future.
“And in this mountain shall the Lord of hosts make unto all people a feast of fat things, a feast of wines on the lees, of fat things full of marrow, of wines on the lees well refined. And he will destroy in this mountain the face of the covering cast over all people, and the vail that is spread over all nations. He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord God will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the rebuke of his people shall he take away from off all the earth: for the Lord hath spoken it.” Isaiah 25:6-8

- Restoration of the Biblical feasts.
We long to restore the feasts of the Lord and celebrate them in honor of Yeshua. We are helping to restore the celebration of the feasts by organizing them and by teaching about them to prepare for the coming of the Messiah Yeshua.
The Lord shall roar out of Zion, and utter his voice from Jerusalem, and the heavens and the earth shall shake: but the Lord will be the hope of his people, and the strength of the children of Israel. Joel 3:16
- Support Eliahu and Jennifer in their ministry for the Lord in Zion.
Help them to pray on high level over Zion, organize His feasts in Zion and teach about them, tell about Yeshua and preach the gospel out of Zion, to have a resting place for a special time with the Lord.
Our passion is to provide a dwelling place for the Presence of the Lord in Zion, pray from there for peace in Jerusalem, Israel and the nations. Pray that river of life will flow and make the desert bloom, both physically and spiritually. Pray that all people will come to the Mountain of the Lord and know His presence. A place from where we bless the Lord, as His priests in the order of Melchizedek. God is restoring Zion. He wants to make Jerusalem great again to prepare the way for His Son to reign.
